Privacy Policy

La presente informativa descrive come l'applicazione Zeni («l'App»), sviluppata e distribuita da Tommaso Cerreti (sviluppatore indipendente, «il Titolare»), tratta i dati personali degli utenti, ai sensi del Regolamento (UE) 2016/679 («GDPR»).

In breve

Zeni è un servizio con account: per usarlo crei un account (email + codice OTP) e i tuoi dati finanziari (spese, saldi, obiettivi, budget) sono conservati e sincronizzati sul nostro server, in Unione Europea, così li ritrovi su tutti i tuoi dispositivi.
Una copia cifrata dei dati è tenuta anche sul tuo dispositivo, così l'App resta reattiva e continua a funzionare anche senza rete: è parte del meccanismo di sincronizzazione, non una modalità «solo locale» alternativa.
Non usiamo la cifratura end-to-end: per far funzionare la sincronizzazione, i tuoi dati sono leggibili sul server dal Titolare e dal fornitore dell'infrastruttura. Li trattiamo come riservati: nessuna vendita, cessione, pubblicità o profilazione; vi accediamo solo per fornire e mantenere il servizio.
Nessuna pubblicità, nessun tracciamento, nessuna profilazione.
Puoi esportare i tuoi dati e eliminare l'account (con tutti i dati sul server) in ogni momento.

Quali dati trattiamo

Dati finanziari inseriti da te (transazioni, obiettivi, budget, fondi, categorie, uscite prevedibili): sono dati personali e sono il cuore dell'App. Restano cifrati sul dispositivo (SQLCipher) e vengono sincronizzati sul nostro server in forma leggibile, per essere disponibili su tutti i tuoi dispositivi.
Indirizzo email: per creare l'account e ricevere il codice di accesso (OTP). Non conserviamo password.
Nome/soprannome del profilo: quello che scegli in onboarding, per personalizzare l'App.
Metodo di pagamento (per l'eventuale abbonamento futuro): gestito interamente dallo store (Apple App Store / Google Play). Non vediamo né trattiamo i dati della tua carta. (La beta è gratuita: nessun pagamento oggi.)
Dati diagnostici di crash: informazioni tecniche sugli errori dell'App, senza dati finanziari.

Account e sincronizzazione

Per usare Zeni crei un account con la tua email; l'accesso avviene con un codice OTP inviato via email (nessuna password).
I tuoi dati sono conservati sul nostro server e sincronizzati su tutti i tuoi dispositivi. Sul dispositivo è mantenuta una copia completa e cifrata che consente all'App di restare reattiva e di funzionare anche temporaneamente offline, riallineandosi quando torni online. Questa copia locale è una componente tecnica della sincronizzazione, non una modalità d'uso senza server.
Il server è la copia di riferimento e conserva i tuoi dati in forma leggibile (non cifrata end-to-end). Questo ci permette di offrirti multi-dispositivo e, in futuro, funzioni come il collegamento ai conti (open banking).
Puoi eliminare l'account in ogni momento dalle Impostazioni: l'operazione rimuove i tuoi dati anche dal server.

Basi giuridiche

Dati finanziari, account e sincronizzazione: esecuzione di un servizio che ci chiedi (art. 6.1.b GDPR). Zeni è per sua natura un servizio basato su account e sincronizzazione cloud: la creazione dell'account e la conservazione dei dati sul server sono necessarie per erogare il servizio; la copia locale ne è una componente tecnica, non una modalità alternativa.
Email per l'accesso: esecuzione del servizio (art. 6.1.b).
Dati diagnostici (Sentry): legittimo interesse del Titolare (art. 6.1.f) a mantenere l'App stabile e sicura, bilanciato dal fatto che i dati sono tecnici e privi di informazioni finanziarie.

Con chi condividiamo i dati

Per fornire il servizio ci appoggiamo a fornitori che trattano i dati per nostro conto, con contratto (DPA):

Supabase — hosting, database, autenticazione e sincronizzazione. Conserva i tuoi dati finanziari e l'email su server in Unione Europea (Irlanda); non lasciano l'UE. Per operare l'infrastruttura, il fornitore può tecnicamente accedere ai dati.
IONOS — invio dell'email col codice di accesso (vede l'indirizzo email). Fornitore europeo.
Sentry — raccolta dei report di crash. Dati in Unione Europea (Germania). DPA accettato; nessun trasferimento fuori UE.
Apple / Google — gestione dei pagamenti dell'eventuale abbonamento futuro (non vediamo i dati della carta).

Non vendiamo né cediamo i tuoi dati a terzi per finalità loro.

Trasferimenti fuori dall'Unione Europea

I dati sono archiviati nell'Unione Europea e non vengono trasferiti fuori dall'UE. Non è quindi necessario il ricorso a clausole contrattuali standard (SCC).

Per quanto tempo conserviamo i dati

Dati dell'account (finanziari + email): conservati finché mantieni l'account. Quando elimini l'account, vengono eliminati dal server senza ritardo.
Dati sul dispositivo: restano finché tieni l'App installata; puoi azzerarli dalle Impostazioni o disinstallando l'App.
Dati diagnostici (Sentry): conservati per 90 giorni, poi eliminati.

Su tua richiesta di cancellazione, i tuoi dati personali vengono eliminati senza ritardo.

I tuoi diritti

Puoi esercitare in qualsiasi momento i diritti previsti dal GDPR:

Accesso ai tuoi dati e rettifica (modifichi i dati direttamente nell'App).
Cancellazione: azzeri i dati locali dalle Impostazioni; l'eliminazione dell'account rimuove anche i dati dal server.
Portabilità: puoi esportare i tuoi dati finanziari in un formato leggibile (CSV) direttamente dall'App («Esporta i miei dati»).
Opposizione e limitazione del trattamento; revoca di eventuali consensi.
Reclamo all'autorità di controllo (in Italia: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).

Categorie particolari di dati

Zeni non tratta categorie particolari di dati personali ai sensi dell'art. 9 GDPR (origine, salute, opinioni, ecc.).

Sicurezza

Adottiamo misure tecniche e organizzative adeguate (art. 32 GDPR):

I dati sul dispositivo sono cifrati con SQLCipher.
Le comunicazioni di rete avvengono via HTTPS/TLS; i dati sul server sono cifrati a riposo dall'infrastruttura del fornitore.
Ogni utente accede solo ai propri dati: isolamento a livello di riga (RLS).
L'accesso avviene tramite codice OTP via email, senza password memorizzate.
I dati non sono cifrati end-to-end: il Titolare e il fornitore possono accedervi per fornire il servizio (gestione, assistenza, sicurezza).

In caso di violazione dei dati che comporti un rischio per i tuoi diritti, notificheremo l'autorità di controllo entro 72 ore (art. 33) e, se il rischio è elevato, informeremo anche gli utenti interessati (art. 34).

Nessun tracciamento

Zeni non usa analytics, tracker, cookie, pixel, SDK pubblicitari o strumenti di profilazione all'interno dell'App. Non tracciamo il tuo comportamento.

Minori

L'App non è diretta a minori di 14 anni e non raccoglie consapevolmente i loro dati.

Modifiche a questa informativa

In caso di modifiche significative aggiorneremo questa pagina, la data in alto e — per i cambiamenti rilevanti — avviseremo gli utenti anche dentro l'App.

This privacy policy describes how the Zeni application ("the App"), developed and distributed by Tommaso Cerreti (independent developer, "the Data Controller"), processes users' personal data, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR").

In brief

Zeni is an account-based service: to use it you create an account (email + OTP code) and your financial data (expenses, balances, goals, budgets) is stored and synchronised on our server, within the European Union, so you can access it on all your devices.
An encrypted copy of the data is also kept on your device, so the App stays responsive and keeps working even offline: this is part of the synchronisation mechanism, not an alternative "local-only" mode.
We do not use end-to-end encryption: to make synchronisation work, your data is readable on the server by the Data Controller and by the infrastructure provider. We treat it as confidential: no selling, sharing, advertising or profiling; we access it only to provide and maintain the service.
No advertising, no tracking, no profiling.
You can export your data and delete your account (with all data on the server) at any time.

What data we process

Financial data you enter (transactions, goals, budgets, funds, categories, predictable expenses): this is personal data and is the core of the App. It is kept encrypted on your device (SQLCipher) and is synchronised to our server in readable form, so it is available on all your devices.
Email address: to create your account and receive your access code (OTP). We do not store passwords.
Profile name/nickname: the one you choose during onboarding, to personalise the App.
Payment method (for a possible future subscription): handled entirely by the store (Apple App Store / Google Play). We do not see or process your card details. (The beta is free: no payment today.)
Crash diagnostic data: technical information about App errors, without financial data.

Account and synchronisation

To use Zeni you create an account with your email; access happens through an OTP code sent by email (no password).
Your data is stored on our server and synchronised across all your devices. A complete, encrypted copy is kept on your device, which lets the App stay responsive and keep working temporarily offline, realigning when you are back online. This local copy is a technical component of synchronisation, not a way of using the App without a server.
The server is the reference copy and keeps your data in readable form (not end-to-end encrypted). This lets us offer multi-device access and, in the future, features such as bank-account linking (open banking).
You can delete your account at any time from Settings: this also removes your data from the server.

Legal bases

Financial data, account and synchronisation: performance of a service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Zeni is by its nature a service based on an account and cloud synchronisation: creating the account and storing data on the server are necessary to provide the service; the local copy is a technical component, not an alternative mode.
Email for access: performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b)).
Diagnostic data (Sentry): legitimate interest of the Data Controller (Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the App stable and secure, balanced by the fact that the data is technical and contains no financial information.

Who we share data with

To provide the service we rely on providers that process data on our behalf, under a contract (DPA):

Supabase — hosting, database, authentication and synchronisation. It stores your financial data and email on servers in the European Union (Ireland); they do not leave the EU. To operate the infrastructure, the provider can technically access the data.
IONOS — sending the email with your access code (sees the email address). European provider.
Sentry — collection of crash reports. Data in the European Union (Germany). DPA accepted; no transfer outside the EU.
Apple / Google — handling payments for a possible future subscription (we do not see card details).

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.

Transfers outside the European Union

Data is stored within the European Union and is not transferred outside the EU. Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) are therefore not required.

How long we keep the data

Account data (financial + email): kept for as long as you keep your account. When you delete your account, it is deleted from the server without undue delay.
Data on the device: remains as long as you keep the App installed; you can clear it from Settings or by uninstalling the App.
Diagnostic data (Sentry): kept for 90 days, then deleted.

At your deletion request, your personal data is deleted without undue delay.

Your rights

You can exercise the rights provided by the GDPR at any time:

Access to your data and rectification (you edit the data directly in the App).
Erasure: you clear local data from Settings; deleting your account also removes data from the server.
Portability: you can export your financial data in a readable format (CSV) directly from the App ("Export my data").
Objection and restriction of processing; withdrawal of any consent.
Complaint to the supervisory authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).

Special categories of data

Zeni does not process special categories of personal data under Art. 9 GDPR (origin, health, opinions, etc.).

Security

We adopt appropriate technical and organisational measures (Art. 32 GDPR):

Data on the device is encrypted with SQLCipher.
Network communications use HTTPS/TLS; data on the server is encrypted at rest by the provider's infrastructure.
Each user accesses only their own data: row-level isolation (RLS).
Access is via OTP code by email, with no stored passwords.
Data is not end-to-end encrypted: the Data Controller and the provider can access it to provide the service (management, support, security).

In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours (Art. 33) and, if the risk is high, we will also inform affected users (Art. 34).

No tracking

Zeni does not use analytics, trackers, cookies, pixels, advertising SDKs or profiling tools within the App. We do not track your behaviour.

Minors

The App is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If there are significant changes we will update this page, the date at the top and — for material changes — notify users inside the App as well.
